The Outreach Ministry of St. Paul’s
is to be a source of hope and healing to the community, the nation, and the world.
We
will implement this mission in alignment with the Millennium Development Goals, which are:
- eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
- achieve universal primary education
- promote
gender equality and empower women
- reduce child mortality
- improve
maternal health
- combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
- ensure
environmental sustainability
- develop a Global Partnership for Development
Funding for Outreach Ministries will be tri-fold—funding will come from the General
budget, Bequests and Endowments, and Designated Special Appeals. Our Long Term goal is to designate 20% of the general
budget for Outreach.
Current Activities
- A group of four will be working with Fr. Noe Bernier
and his teachers in Cap Haitien, Haiti. We begin our trip on January 12th, arriving in Cap Haitien on the 14th.
We'll be providing teaching tips and techniques for the elementary school teachers, and will be observing classrooms in
the elementary, high school and trade school. We return on January 21st.
Please pray for Diane, Melanie, Rev. Janet
and Ron as they travel and work with their friends at Eglise Sainte Esprit, Cap Haitien.

We also provide food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas for families in the community - you can
also see a few photos by clicking the link above.
- I-84 cleanups are ongoing - we have cleaned our 1.25
miles of E/W-bound I-84 a number of times, and Ava will continue to schedule future events.

- The Warming Place
When it gets cold at night this winter, volunteers from The Dalles
are helping to provide a warm, over-night shelter for the homeless in our community. St. Paul's provides volunteers
every Tuesday night that the Hope Warming Place is open - 7:00pm - 7:00am.
The Warming Place is now open for the
2011-12 winter.
