A Summer Camp Invitation!
Located in the heart of the Grande Ronde Valley in Eastern Oregon (just outside La Grande), the Episcopal church is offering summer camps for beginners, combined, junior high and senior high age students. The mission of Ascension School Camp and Conference Center is to provide "A Place Apart for all of God’s children to gather and to share, to be refreshed by the joy of God’s creation, nurtured in the bounty of holy love, and challenged to the ministry of Christ’s Gospel." As a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Eastern Oregon and followers of Jesus Christ, Ascension School Camp is working toward the practice of unconditional love through the values of: Human Dignity, Creation Care, and Spiritual Formation. They believe in the call to strive for justice and peace among all people, and to respect the dignity of every human being. Financial aid is available through our local parish. "Belong"
Ascension School cultivates healthy relationships and strives to ensure every camper knows they are loved just as they are. The life of Jesus is core to guiding spirituality with Ascension School campers. BELONG is the key teaching theme for the summer of 2023. Campers will explore what it means to be invited into and thrive in a community where they genuinely belong. They’ll unpack issues of identity formation and learn spiritual practices that can help sustain their sense of belonging in an often confusing and hard world. And most of all, they will be reminded that their Creator cares for them and they are invited into The Way of Love each day. We look forward to getting kids outside by enjoying and caring for creation. We will continue to engage campers in the way of love practices for a Jesus -centered life.
